Developed in partnership with Snøhetta, the newly introduced DUMBO Design District logo marks a defining moment for the neighborhood—one that reflects both its industrial past and its growing influence on the global design landscape.
The identity draws directly from DUMBO itself. Inspired by the neighborhood’s iconic arches and the interplay between historic infrastructure and contemporary design, the mark balances softness and structure—mirroring the spectrum of creative practices that call DUMBO home. Its color palette reflects the expansive sky views that frame the waterfront, grounding the identity in a distinctly local perspective.
For Snøhetta, which recently established its New York studio in the neighborhood, the project was an opportunity to translate the character of its surroundings into a visual language that feels both expressive and enduring.
This year’s programming builds on the momentum of DUMBO’s recent recognition as an official New York City design district. Home to more than 160 architecture and design firms, the neighborhood offers one of the most concentrated creative ecosystems in the city. Many of those firms are based in DUMBO's landmark office buildings. These coveted Brooklyn office spaces managed by Two Trees Management have long attracted architects, designers, creative studios, and showrooms drawn to the neighborhood's light, scale, and collaborative energy.
From May 14–20, as part of NYCxDESIGN Festival, DUMBO will host a week of events that open studios, spark dialogue, and bring the public into the spaces where design happens.
At the center of it all is DUMBO Design Day, taking place on May 20—a full day of programming that invites visitors to experience the neighborhood through the lens of its creative community.

Throughout the week and on Design Day, the neighborhood will come alive with a mix of experiences:
Highlights include a Phaidon Design Bookstore pop-up at Hudson Wilder, an open studio at Snøhetta’s new space, the debut of a limited-edition DUMBO mug by Fishs Eddy, and the return of Inside~Out, an outdoor exhibition exploring new ideas in urban design.
Neighborhood favorites like Henrybuilt, Reform, and ZAROLAT will host their own programming, from installations and performances to conversations with designers shaping the industry today.

What sets DUMBO apart is not just the density of talent, but the way it operates as a true community. Many of the architects, designers, and makers who work here also live here—creating a rare overlap between professional collaboration and neighborhood life.
That dynamic is on full display during DUMBO Design Day, when studios open their doors and the neighborhood becomes an immersive, walkable experience of New York’s design culture at its most immediate and alive.
For creative companies looking to relocate their businesses to office space in DUMBO, it's also a chance to experience the neighborhood and to understand why so many of New York's most interesting businesses have chosen to move here.
DUMBO Design Day takes place on Wednesday, May 20, closing out the week-long festival with a full schedule of events across the neighborhood.
